It is our pleasure to have you stay at Rest-a-Shore! In order to maintain the property at high standards, we ask that you observe the following rules and guidelines.
Maintenance
1. Any questions, concerns, or if you need help with anything in the home please call or message us.
2. Complaints regarding the cleanliness or maintenance of this home must be reported immediately upon arrival by calling or message. Calls after 8:00pm will be returned promptly the next morning. All problems must be reported as soon as they occur.
3. Please do not turn air conditioners lower than 68 degrees. Leaving the ceiling fans on and the bedroom doors open is recommended for best air flow. As nice as it would be at times to leave doors and windows open, please do not. The Salty Air + Humidity causes A LOT of issues and damage to the home! Keep all windows and doors closed and locked.
4. The refrigerator/freezer controls should be left on the MEDIUM setting. If set on maximum setting, a defrost cycle can occur which can cause the coils to freeze and the unit not to cool. Please put large quantities of warm drinks in a cooler with ice in order to give groceries a chance to cool adequately. When a large amount of warm groceries are put in an empty refrigerator, it takes about 12-24 hours for the unit to cool all of the food and drinks.
5. If a repair person is called out, on the request of the guest, to attend to something not operating properly, complete access must be given to this person until determination is made regarding the repair and if possible, the repair is completed. If complete access is not granted by the guest, resulting in a second service call to complete the repair, a service fee of $195 will be deducted from the deposit.
6. In the event of a major unforeseen repair (roof leak, etc.), every effort will be taken to ensure the scheduling of the repair does not interfere with your vacation, however, in the event we have no choice and the repair must be scheduled during your stay, complete access must be given to the repair person(s). Depending on the scope of the repair, we may compensate you for part or all of a nights’ stay. If complete access is not given, the entire deposit will be forfeited.
7. Rest-a-Shore is a non-smoking property. No exceptions. Violation of the smoking policy will result in eviction and forfeiture of monies. A fee will be assessed if cigarette butts are found littering the property. If there is evidence of smoking inside the property, there will be a minimum $250 fee asses for cleaning.
SONOS SOUND SYSTEM
The home has Sonos Sound so you can play music! Indoors and outdoor speakers upstairs and down.
Miscellaneous
• There are beach toys, tents, umbrellas, chairs, a wagon, etc. in the storage area. Please rinse these items off after returning from the beach. Do NOT leave items overnight on the beach as they will be confiscated!
• Please keep the ceiling fans on it helps to move the air conditioning or heating.
Check-out time is at 11am. To ensure we have time to prepare for our incoming guests, please be prepared to leave on time. Our cleaners will need access to the property to sanitize and prepare the home.
1. Please lock all windows and doors upon departure.
2. Please clean and put away all dishes, pots and pans, including those in the dishwasher.
3. If the oven or grill was used it must be cleaned. A $35 cleaning fee will be charged if excessively dirty.
4. Leave any dirty bath towels in the bathtubs/showers. Please do not wash the towels. However, If you used the beach towels you are responsible for washing and drying the beach towels prior to checking out. Housekeeping will not launder beach towels. Additional cleaning charge for dirty beach towels.
5. No need to strip the beds – our cleaners will take care of those for you! If you used any extra pillows or bedding please leave them on the floor so we know they need to be washed.
6. All trash must be bagged and placed in the large green containers found underneath the home. Someone will come Sunday evening to roll out the cans. The only trash pick up is on Monday.
7. Check throughout the house (including under the beds, in drawers, and around all electrical outlets) for any personal items.
8. Turn off all the lights, TVs and electronics. If you logged into an account on the TV’s (ex: Netflix, etc.) remember to sign-out.
9. Turn thermostat to 72 degrees in the summer and 68 in the winter.
10. If you’ve moved any furniture or belongings, please put them back in their original places.
12. Kindly message us when you have left the property so we can let Housekeeping know.
